One Year In, Learned By Building, Not By Watching Tutorials.
I’ve been working with WordPress for about a year now. No formal course, no certificate on the wall. Everything I know came from opening real projects, breaking things, fixing them, and doing that on repeat until the process stopped feeling like guesswork.
Most of my work right now runs through agencies rather than direct clients. That’s not a downside. It means every site I hand off gets checked against someone else’s standard before it reaches a business owner, which has forced me to build cleaner and think more carefully about what actually holds up under review.
I care about how a website looks. But I care more about what it does after someone lands on it.

Elementor and WordPress are what I build with, not what I’m selling. What I’m actually solving for is simpler and harder at the same time, getting a visitor from “landed on this page” to “sent a message or picked up the phone.”
That shows up in small decisions most developers skip past. Where the contact section sits on mobile. Whether a headline explains the business in one read or needs a second pass. Whether the page loads fast enough that someone on a weak connection in a smaller city doesn’t just leave.

Most business owners assume the job is done once the site is live and looks professional. In my experience, that’s the halfway point, not the finish line.
A website that just sits there looking clean isn’t doing much for the business behind it. I build with that as the goal from the first page of the layout, not as something bolted on at the end.

Before any design work starts, I go through what the business does, who it's trying to reach, and what a visitor needs to see to trust it.
Design
Layout and visual direction get built around that goal, not around what looks trendy. The design has to make sense for this specific business.
Resopnsive
The site gets built in WordPress with responsive development from the ground up, so it holds up the same way on a phone as it does on a laptop.
Test & Refine
Before anything goes live, I go through the site on different devices and screen sizes, checking that path a visitor might take actually works.
Who I Work With.
Right now most of my work comes through agencies, building sites for their clients under an agreed brief and review process. Alongside that, I take on direct projects for local businesses in Pakistan and for international clients who need a website that does more than sit online looking presentable.
Service businesses tend to be the best fit for how I build, since their websites usually have one clear job, getting someone to call, message, or book, and that’s the kind of problem I like solving.

I won’t pretend to have fifteen years of experience or a wall of certifications, because I don’t. What I do have is a year of hands-on work, mostly inside agency projects where the bar for what gets approved is already set by someone else, plus a habit of treating every project like it needs to hold up under review, because it usually does.
